Born and raised in Arlington, MA, Georgia spent her summers in Scituate. She was a Cohasset resident for 22 years, and moved to Acton, ME 32 years ago.
Georgia was an art teacher for Cohasset and Hull schools, and became the Head of the Art Dept. for Hull High School. After moving to Acton, she opened the Acton Trading Post and operated the business for 23 years.
She was a talented artist. The Scituate shoreline and Minot Light were favorite scenes to paint. Georgia had a love for spending time with family, painting, and the ocean. She was known for opening her heart and home to all, and enjoyed cooking.
Georgia is survived by 3 children; Jay and his wife Debbie of Pembroke, Paul and his wife Martha of Scituate, and Georgia Spielvogel and her husband Brian of Rochester, NH, 3 siblings; Phyllis Hallam of FL, Mary Louise Burke of CT, Shirley Hendrickson of Scituate, a sister in-law Fay Hession of VA, 8 grandchildren; Amanda, Michael, Casey, Matthew, Nicholas, Kol, Cloe, and Will, and 1 great-grandson; Jayden. She was the sister of the late Barbara Gaughan and William Hession.
A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29th from 2-4PM at the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd, Scituate.
