

Edward T. Ahearn – 59, of Marshfield passed away peacefully on the afternoon of July 13, 2022 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital after a long, hard battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Lynne (Johnston) Ahearn, with whom he celebrated 28 years of marriage and raised 3 beautiful children.
He was born and raised in the Squantum neighborhood of Quincy, the son of Evelyn (Green) Ahearn of Squantum and the late John Ahearn.
He was the loving father of Katelynne Ahearn and her husband William Comber of Middleboro, Carolyn Ahearn of Marshfield and her partner Timothy Over and Zachary Ahearn of Marshfield.
He is survived by his brother Dave Ahearn and sisters Joanne Williams, Sandra Concannon, Diane West, and Pamela Ahearn; many nieces and nephews and a growing group of grand nieces and grand nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers John, Steven, and Richard. He was the loving nephew of Cherry and Buddy Steward of Marshfield.
Ed loved spending his free time with his family and relaxing by a fire. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards and visiting baseball stadiums around the country with Zachary. He also enjoyed cruising and traveling with family and friends. He cherished making others around him laugh.
Visitation is on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 4-8 PM at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 10 AM at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate. A private interment will take place at a later date, when he will be laid to rest at the Blue Hills Cemetery.
