Caroline M. (Dwyer) Gorman, age 60, of Pembroke and former longtime resident of Scituate passed away on April 18, 2017 after a recent rapid decline in health following a courageous, six year battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Christopher J. Gorman with whom she shared nearly 21 years of marriage.
Caroline was the devoted mother of Holly Fassnacht of Weymouth and Stephanie Binkley and her husband Jared of Jacksonville, FL. She was the cherished Nunnie and Nana Gorman to Hailey, Cameron and Brendan. Dear daughter of the late Gerard and Annette (Drew) Dwyer. Loving sister of Judith Ferrera of Mansfield, Charlotte Doherty of Scituate, Patricia Sunnerberg and her husband Stephen of Scituate, and Maureen Ellis and her husband Randall of St. Augustine, FL. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Caroline was employed for many years as a server at the Flounder Inn Restaurant in Scituate Harbor and later worked as a home health aide. Her care and compassion was most evident in her great love for animals, particularly 3 racing greyhounds that she handpicked from Raynham Taunton Greyhound Park and cared for with admirable devotion.
Relatives and friends may gather at the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 9:15 AM to join in procession to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visiting hours Monday 6-8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Scituate Animal Shelter, 780 Chief Justice Cushing Hwy, Scituate, MA 02066.
