Ann is survived by William, her husband of 66 years, sons Stephen, David and Joseph and daughter Catherine. Her siblings Thomas Whiteside, Elaine Kees and Jean Capen survive her while her sister Catherine Richard passed away in December 2022.
She was born in Boston on December 2, 1936. Ann graduated from Archbishop Cushing High School in 1954. She worked in Boston until her marriage when she relocated with her husband to Red Bank, New Jersey while he served in the Army. In 1959 she moved with her husband and first son to live in Claremont, New Hampshire. There she had two more boys and adopted her daughter. During her time in Claremont, she was the secretary at St. Mary’s Parish and then secretary to the guidance counselor at Stevens High School and ultimately secretary to the assistant superintendent of the regional school district. In 1976 the family moved to Plymouth, MA.
In 1980 she enrolled at Bridgewater State College where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in 1984. She spent eight years as parish secretary for St. Thomas Moore Church in Braintree. She then enrolled in Emmanuel College where she earned her Master’s degree in counseling in 1994. She was then employed by Julie’s Family Program in South Boston as a counselor until her retirement in 2017. In retirement she enjoyed living in Scituate, MA.
