She was born in Lebanon on March 31, 1927, the daughter of John and Marion Trostle
Baney. She graduated from South Lebanon High School. Her soft pleasant voice was ideal for working as an operator for Bell Telephone in Lebanon.
She married Stanley J. Reedy, who lived on a South Lebanon Township farm. They purchased a large brick home on North Market Street in Schaefferstown and became active members of St. Luke Lutheran Church. Their children attended Schaefferstown Elementary, visible from their hillside home.
Stanley was the owner of a television, appliance, and paint store near their home, and when he died in 1976 Janice ran the shop for several years.
She married the Reverend William W. Miller in 1979. After his retirement, they enjoyed taking road trips to destinations across America. They also coordinated the Retired Senior Volunteer Program at St. Luke. Janice and Bill were loved and greatly respected by their children (and their spouses), grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Janice was a skilled seamstress, gardener, baker, and cook, and hosted wonderful Sunday dinners for the families of her adult children for many years. She enjoyed reading books and her daily newspaper.
She is survived by sons Jeffrey (Susan) Reedy and Timothy (Diane) Reedy, daughter Karen (Douglas) Stump, stepson Joel (Barbara) Miller, grandchildren Laura Ramler, Joshua Reedy, Seth Reedy, Mary Halye, Emily Gardener, Zachary Goodison, Marissa Onderko, Abigail Blake, and Tyler Miller, and their spouses/significant other, 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her sister Judy Hale.
In addition to her husbands, Stanley Reedy and Rev. William Miller, she was predeceased by her daughter, Cynthia Reedy Goodison, great grandson Draven Goodison, and brother, John Baney.
Her family will gather at their convenience to share their favorite memories of this beautiful, caring, and special person.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.clauserfh.com for the Miller family.
