Dear Mindy,

Sue and I just learned of Bob's passing and we are truly sorry for this news. We enjoyed great times together with you both at the Orienta Beach Club.  We'll remember him as a great guy with a wicked sense of humor and his always interesting way at looking at the world. May he rest in peace and his memory be a blessing.

So very sorry to hear of Bob's passing. Bob was a great guy and maybe the nicest guy in the business. Don't confuse that with his being easy though, he was tough and one of the industries most well respected and successful sales executives. Condolences to the family and close friends, God Bless! 

I often credit my 16 year (and counting) career to Bob Cesa.  Mr. Cesa was a friend of my Dads and when I was a recent college graduate (with no direction) he agreed to meet with me to explain the media industry.   However, he didn’t just get on a quick phone call, he met me at the diner on a Saturday morning and not only did he explain the media industry to me, he drew it out on the back of the diner menu.  He provided contacts that got me my first job and  gave me career advice that I followed to a T.   I think back on that day often and feel so fortunate to have had one on one advice from a man I only knew as my dads friend, only later finding out that he was a media legend.  I also smile and wonder what the back of that menu would look like now.  When I heard of Bob’s passing I made a silent promise to pay it forward and try my best to give the same devoted attention, mentorship and kindness to those in need.

Anyone who met Bob was immediately struck by his kindness and generosity of spirit. He also had a great sense of fun and a tireless work ethic. He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, and wonderful friend. I had the good fortune to meet him in 1992 when he was opening an office for Twentieth Television in Chicago. We had been introduced by a mutual former colleague, Ken Wachtel, who knew of my desire to move back to Chicago to be near my family. After several meetings, Bob offered me a job and off I went. He was a true supporter of women, long before it was widespread. He encouraged me to learn and grow. He publically celebrated my successes and had me showcase my work to his boss. He knew I was ambitious and hardworking and he would always praise me for these attributes, but he also encouraged and supported me to have a full life and to have time for friends and family. When I attended my first Syndication Trade Organization meeting, as the new Head of Ad Sales for Universal Television, I was unusually quiet. I was the only head of sales who was a woman and feeling a bit overwhelmed. During the meeting, he proactively asked me to join the conversation. Afterwards, he pulled me aside and said “Do not bow your head to anyone, own your role and speak up.” He had spent the past three years working with me, and knew what I could do. Almost a decade later, I was looking to return to New York from Chicago, and he welcomed me back to Twentieth. Just as quickly, he encouraged me to take on the President’s role at Magna. In his final years in the business, and up until the point he could still connect, he was a tireless supporter and champion, believing in me even when I did not believe in myself. I am lucky to have worked with him, but even luckier to count him as my friend. 

I always remember Bob’s great smile and love for  his family 
I was his sister’s best friend so many years ago… and Bob was right there laughing with us all the time! His parents adored him

Bob was a wonderful man, and one of the kindest and warmest people I  have known.  Bob always took a genuine interest in others.  Of course I remember him for his sense of humor, but he was a thoughtful person, a good listener and his opinion mattered and was respected.  My family and office staff  were  saddened to learn of Bob's passing,  but know the last couple of years in particular were sadder still.  My daughter Allison will always remember Bob fondly as he was a mentor and trusted advisor to her regarding her career.  Bob leaves a wonderful legacy of loving family and friends to honor his memory.

It is always special when you can own cherished memories of a dear friend and how he looked at the love of his life with a shake of his head and a "Min ..." or at his two daughters with with pure joy (and the fake claim that they somehow made him go Kojak earlier than expected). But when this same dear friend has enough room in his heart to seem to get so much delight out of the antics of your own children ... that's a connection that runs deep and forever. Bob will be forever in our hearts - Alisa, Teddy, Evan, Dov and Abbey

Enjoy your reunion! I know you both missed eachother and I miss you both.

Bob Cesa was a very special guy…from the moment we met him, we were captivated by the way he knew how to talk to men and women alike and truly displayed an interest in what you had to say. We experienced many  great times and vacations together. Our grandchildren were born two days apart and so we got to become first time grandparents together…we also  bought  a vacation home in HiltonHead Island with Mindy and Bob and had such fun times!. He was always in a good mood and was a joy to be around!
John and I will miss him terribly.  Bob  was taken from us way too soon! We  will love and miss him . May he Rest In Peace!

I was blessed to know Bobby, he was one of the absolute best guys to have known. Bobby was always there in a heartbeat if you ever needed anything. He offered his extremely knowledgeable point of view no matter what the subject was, be it sports, world news or even any type of financial situation. He actually really listened to you and offered his recommendations without any expectations in return. The world has lost a great person. We will miss him but never forget him. May he be at rest and sit with God. 

A true Gentlemen's Gentleman.   Bob was the nicest person anyone could meet.  He will always be remembered for the kind demeanor he showed everyone.  Rich and I will always think of Bob and remember him so fondly.  May Mindy and his family be strong and carry on his light.  Rest In Peace Bob.   We will miss you.

“Sometimes memories sneak out of my eyes and roll down my cheeks” and while I don’t know who first said that, my 30 year friendship with Bob has so many of those memories and they have started to flow uncontrollably during the last few years. I believe God brought us together because the bond we enjoyed was spiritual, practical, filled with love and respect, and truly unique. 
Whether it was during one of our hundreds of rounds of golf, or late night chats when one of us got lonely from all the business travel, or when we suffered from unimaginable pain/sorrow or ecstatic pride & joy like when our kids got married, our words to each other were always said and received with unconditional love and appreciative hugs.
Bob always said that Minderella and Susie Q deserved the credit and I can’t disagree.

Bob the damn illness started taking you but and even so every  visit, every hug, every smile made my cheeks even wetter.
I love you; you are one of the few who has left this world a truly better place.I am a better l person because of you

Always loved Bob from the first time we met through all the years of celebrations, parties, tears and laughter. Some of my favorite memories of him were in our house  in Hilton Head, and here  having just finished playing the 18th hole at Harbour Town . You will always be in my heart, my thoughts and my prayers.

A great friend first, colleague, second.  Everyone who knew Bob, to a person, says ‘What a great guy”. Well  know for his self effacing sense of humor and undying loyalty.  A group of friends, pictured here, started having an annual holiday lunch at Patsy’s in new york city and other great Italian restaurants


I met Bob over 35 years ago while sharing an office with him at Tribune entertainment. We had so many laughs, way to many to describe and called each other knucklehead. We became close friends and Bob became one of my best friends in my life. We vacationed to Puerto Rico with the wives, played  numerous rounds of golf, and even continued our strong bond in Florida when Bob and Mindy moved to Ballanisle. Words can’t describe the great Unselfish man he was, not a mean bone in his body, and didn’t deserve what happened to him at the end of his life. To say he will be missed is an understatement. .

Bob was a wonderful friend as well as long time business associate. He had a wonderful sense of humor and probably had numerous people who considered Bob their best friend. That says a lot. 

Bob was generous and loved his wife Mindy and his daughters and grand sons so very much. He was proud of his heritage and he was both respected and admired by his many business associates and clients. 

Bob dearly loved his dog Bill .

 I will always think of Bob fondly and cherish his friendship.

Bob will be missed and we will be fortunate to see people like Bob again.
