John P. Carlson

A son of Queens, New York, John was born May 20, 1946 and was the only child of Leona and Waldemar Carlson. John attended Brooklyn Tech and Pratt Institute, graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. John married Norita Reid on July 28, 1973, raising 3 children together.

John was a car enthusiast and outdoorsman. He enjoyed attending races, car shows, museums, and lunches. Fishing, archery, camping, and hunting with his family, cousin, and friends were favorite pastimes of his. John was an avid skier, meeting his wife Norita on the slopes.

John is survived by his wife of 51 years Norita, his 3 children Ryan, Brendan, and Neal, his daughters-in-law Sarah and Aryn, and his 5 grandchildren Lana, Finnian, Rachel, Avery, and Reid. He is also survived by his cousins, sister-in-law Patricia, brother-in-law Robert, and niece Eliana, all of whom he loved very much.

A visitation for John will be held Friday, December 13, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Edwin L. Bennett Funeral Home, 824 Scarsdale Ave, Scarsdale, NY 10583. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 53 Winter Hill Rd, Tuckahoe, NY 10707.
