Alexis was born on January 9, 1958, in Staten Island, NY and was the daughter of Patrick R. Sbarra and Janice A. Sbarra. She was predeceased by her parents.
Alexis was a graduate of Edgemont High School in Scarsdale. NY, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY. After college Alexis enjoyed a successful career as an advertising sales professional for the Journal News of Westchester County. But it was after this that she found her calling as a compassionate Medical Assistant. Alexis especially loved serving her patients and co-workers at the Westchester Institute for Human Development in Valhalla, NY.
Alexis deeply loved her family, and looked forward to the annual family gatherings in Cape May Point, NJ. She is survived by her brother, Patrick and wife Susan Sbarra of Rogers, Arkansas; nieces, Kate and husband Brian Dorgan of Nashville, Tennessee, Allie and husband Jackson Smith of Rogers, Arkansas, and their precious daughters London and Wyatt. Alexis is also survived by her “wicked” step mother Jane Sbarra of Sound Beach NY. Jane’s children and Alexis’ step siblings; brother John and wife Suzanne Greenawalt of Hamden CT; and their sons Johnny and wife Samantha Greenawalt, and Drew Greenawalt. Brother David Greenawalt of Charlottesville, VA. Sister Kate and husband Jack Wightman of Sound Beach, NY; and their sons Kyle and wife Gina Wightman, and Dylan and Aidan Wightman.
A memorial service for Alexis will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023. Visitation from 4:00pm to 5:00pm, with service from 5:00pm to 6:00pm at Edwin L. Bennett Funeral Home, 824 Scarsdale Ave, Scarsdale, NY 10583.
