MORAN, Michael John passed away at home on Friday, January 26, 2024, fulfilling his last wish, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Lorraine for 37 years, he told everyone who would listen how much he loved her. Michael was born in Birmingham, England to Brigid and Patrick Moran (deceased). Loving brother to his sister Rose (deceased) and his brother Peter (late Theresa). Proud Father of Marie (Ron), baby Michael John, Michael Liam (Mary Lou) and Michael Clayton (Leanne and her daughters Olivia & Natalie). Within a few days, he was hired by De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited as an Accountant working his way up to handling major government accounts. He often told amusing stories of the happy days he spent there. He moved on to a new job after that as Comptroller at Regis College, University of Toronto from which he retired in 2002. He cherished the relationships he made there with clergy & students alike.
Michael was a voracious reader and an extremely knowledgeable person on all subjects. His favorites were History, Current Events, Politics, Culture & Religion. He rooted for his home football (soccer) team Aston Villa in the English Premier League and would never miss following the World Cup and any other sport going on at the time. He was an avid gardener & rose expert, known as “The Rose Man”, at “the best garden on the street”. He was a good cook & enjoyed hosting family & friends at many dinner & garden parties.
