Janet was born on September 13th, 1955 in Redcar Yorkshire England to Sheila (June) and William (Billy) Moore. She joined older brothers Michael and Leslie and was followed by sisters Carol and Pauline. In 1965 the family sailed across the Atlantic and moved Toronto.
In her teen years Janet joined the Naval Reserve where she met David, who was keen on her from the start. In 1973, Janet and David began dating and married in 1977. In 1981 they welcomed their first daughter Alexis, and in 1984 they welcomed their second daughter Renee.
Janet loved being a mum, and could often be found supporting at school events, field trips, and concerts, including a talent show duet production from the Phantom of the Opera with Renee. Janet loved travel – be it weekend adventures to Niagara Falls, cruises, or road trips to see Alexis and her family in Fort Frances, Ontario. Janet was a proud and loving Nana, a wife of 47 years, and the most wonderful mum.
She was a loyal and loving friend, animal lover, a horror movie fanatic, and a musical enthusiast.
Her loss will forever be felt by her husband David, daughters Alexis (Rob) and Renee, and grandchildren Keegan, Kaitlyn, and Devyn. She also leaves behind brothers Michael (Elizabeth), Leslie, and sisters Carol (Victor) and Pauline, brothers-in-law Ken (Elaine) and Brian (Susan), her nieces and nephews Gordon, Steven, Brittany, Christine, Stephanie, and Jennifer, as well as several great nieces and great nephews. Also left to grieve her loss are dear family friends, the Kings.
Janet was predeceased by her parents Sheila (June) and William (Billy) Moore, mother and father-in-law Diane and Raymond Saltmarsh, and sister-in-law Jane Saltmarsh.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Paul O’Connor Funeral Home at 1939 Lawrence Ave E in Scarborough, Ontario. Services will be held on Thursday October 31st, with a viewing beginning at 11:00 AM and the service beginning at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be donated to a cause near and dear to Janet’s heart, the Canadian Mental Health Association.
