and sisters held vigil at her bedside since her admittance to emergency on Monday Oct 17. She is
predeceased by father Raymond C Doucet and mother Colombe (Parker) Doucet of Bathurst, New
Brunswick. Gwen is lovingly remembered by her sisters and brothers Lynn Doucet Maguet (Marc
Maguet), Keith Doucet (Theresa Yates), Karen Riley (Chris), Nancy Panunto (John), Gary Doucet (Jennifer
Diamond), and her much cherished nieces and nephews; Amy and Jennie Doucet, Madelyn Riley,
Michael and Ashley Panunto, Jacqueline, Tyler and Sheldon Doucet.
She also has an extended family of many cousins residing on the east coast, who have been sending their
love and prayers.
As a child she loved picking wild strawberries, reading lots of books, telling stories and dreaming of her
future. Gwen graduated from Bathurst High School, she worked for the local newspaper, the Northern
Light. Soon after she packed her bags and jetted to the big city of Toronto which she loved. Gwen was
known for her creative writing abilities and loved TV and Movie production. She loved working for TSN
being among few females at the time showing interest in sports. She loved the Blue Jays, making
Christmas cookies for her nieces and nephews, quietly feeding squirrels and helping people. She was
enthusiastic, beautiful with a big heart and always did her best to be helpful to anyone in need, always
wishing she could do more. Gwen courageously battled long-term illness with grace and dignity.
She believed in angels, and we are sure a Chorus of Angels came down singing for her.
A Celebration of Life in Gwen's honor will be held at Paul O'Connor Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Avenue East (between Warden and Pharmacy) on Sunday, October 30th, from 12 pm to 2:00 pm.
