He moved to Ontario in 1952 and met his wife-to-be in 1955 when he was just 20 years old. They became engaged to be married when he was 22 and married the following year. By 24 his first son was born and by his 32nd birthday his family had grown to 7 with the birth of his 5th child.
Don was a devoted member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Scarborough where he settled in 1960 to raise his family.
During his lifetime Don was an incredibly hard worker and due to his work ethic, he was able to start and run his own small business whose success was such that he retired in his 55th year and was able to travel the world with his soul mate. Together they visited places including Malta, The Holy Land, Australia, Portugal and many others for their historical significance and their personal enjoyment.
In his declining years Don took his greatest enjoyment from being at home with his family, often inquiring, “Are the kids coming today?”
The family expresses thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Scarborough General Hospital for their compassion and care.
