She was educated in the New Jersey Public School System. Roberta was a Postal Clerk for the U.S Post Office for 25 years. Roberta served the Lord at St. Michael’s AME Church in N.J., then became a member at St. Mary’s AME Church and has been a faithful member for the past 19 years. Roberta was a member of the Gop Gospel Choir, the Stewardess Board and the Missionary Board.
Roberta was married to the late Paul Harden for 47 years and from that union she leaves to cherish her memory, three children, 1 daughter, Ardelia Taylor of Syracuse, N.Y.; 2 sons, Eric Harden of Savannah, Ga. and Curtis Harden of Jersey City, N.J.; 10 grandchildren, Jahi, James, Curtis, Khadijah, Breyana, Victor, Khadisha, Dayshawn, Janae and Elijah; 6 great-grandchildren,; 3 brothers, Herman Riley who preceded her in death, Ulysses E. Riley III of Brooklyn, N.Y.and James Riley of Virginia Beach, Va.; 3 sisters, Geraldine (Jerry) Parker of Lancaster, Pa., Lula (Julius) Arrington of Columbus, Ga. and Christine Johnson of Savannah, Ga.; 2 Goddaughters, Tiffany and Joyce; 1 Godson Byron and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives, friends and special cousin, John Henry Phillips.
Visitation: 11 – 12 pm Saturday May 5, 2012 at St. Mary’s AME Church 2208 E. Gwinnett St. Savannah, Ga. 31404.
Funeral Service: 12:00 pm in the Church with Rev. Lester Foster Officiating. Interment will be at East Savannah Community Cemetery.
