BARSANTI, Pamela - (April 10, 1963-June 2, 2022) Pamela passed on the second day of June, 2022, peacefully in her sleep at her home on Bear Mountain, Victoria, British Columbia, with her daughter and husband by her side, at age 59.
Grieving her loss are her husband of 31 years, Mark and her daughter, Chiara. Pamela was the daughter of the late Olga Boyette (nee Chudoba) and the granddaughter of the late Peter and the late Mary Chudoba. Sister of Patricia Mitchell (late Bobby), and the late Paula Jackson (late Garfield) and Terry Boyette (Marie). Dear daughter-in-law of Mickie Barsanti (late Victor) and sister-in-law of Patricia Cano (Michael), Kelly Beeson (Clinton), and Jason Barsanti (Christine). Special aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Pamela spent the early part of her career teaching for the Catholic school board in Sault Ste. Marie before moving to Paris, Ontario in the early 2000’s where she taught for the Brant Haldimand Catholic school board. During her teaching career she had a reputation for being a dynamic and captivating lecturer, especially when the subject involved European history. She was pleased when her students attained their full potential, including several who went on to careers in law, medicine, dentistry and education. However, she was most proud of the students whose life circumstances were less than optimal but nonetheless, discovered a passion for learning and ultimately went on to lead fulfilling lives.
Pamela had the good fortune to travel extensively across Europe and North America, and she completed a cycling trip from the Czech Republic to Austria in 2016. During the last 22 years, Pamela was able to enjoy the pleasures and adventures of living in more than seven cities across Canada from Cape Breton Island to Vancouver Island, where she was fast to make friends and impart a positive impact in her community. She was never too busy to be generous with her time and she had great enthusiasm for personal connections. Anyone who met her was drawn to her charisma and passion for stories, adventure and conversations. She never missed an opportunity to get to know people or to share her own story with others.
Pamela wanted to acknowledge a few people who kept in close and frequent contact with her over the last year as her illness progressed: Barbara Stefano, Karen Saindon, Lisa Spadafora, her sister-in-law Patti Cano and her cousin Beth Reid. They were always there with short texts, cards and visits, when possible. All of which kept Pamela’s spirits up or lifted them when she was down. She was deeply appreciative of her mother-in-law, Mickie, who stayed with Pamela during the last six months ensuring that Pamela had constant companionship, and wonderful meals to enjoy.
Pamela asked that if anyone who would like to acknowledge her passing, that they do so by donating in her memory to the CIBC Run for the Cure, being a charity that supports breast cancer research.
Cremation occurred at the beautiful McCall Gardens-Royal Oak Burial Park in Victoria, British Columbia, on June 6th, 2022.
