Leonard Bailey

BAILEY, Leonard - On Tuesday, March 28, 2017, age 97, Leonard Peter Bailey passed away peacefully. Predeceased by his loving wife of 74 years, Helen (nee Whalen) also predeceased by his father Peter Bailey, mother Rose De Lima (Laine) and siblings, Henry and James Bailey. Leonard is survived by his 2 children, Leonard Bailey (Marsha) of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, and Sylvia Soucie (Douglas) of Elliot Lake, Ontario. Brother of Helen (Johndrow), Cecile (Delgard), Lillian (Ramsay), Virginia (Whitaker), Delphine (Pold) and Margaret (LeClair). Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Leonard was a WWII Veteran and a retiree of Algoma Steel. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also loved spending time with his family and friends at the cottage on Northland Lake. During his retirement Leonard and his wife Helen traveled extensively. In his later years as a resident at the F.J. Davey Home he enjoyed watching hockey and baseball and reading his daily newspaper. As a devoted husband and loving father, Leonard will remain in our hearts and our memories forever. A private graveside service will be held. Memorial contributions to the F.J. Davey Home would be appreciated by the family. Our sincere gratitude to the F.J.
