“A life well lived is a life worth celebrating” so leave your sadness at the door and please join us on September 17, 2022 from 1 - 4 in the Loft at the Algoma Conservatory of music (75 Huron St.) as Pam, Stephanie and Jason West welcome family and friends to share their favourite memories of Daphne and remember her remarkable life. Beverages and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
WEST, Daphne Jean - It’s with regret but relief that we announce the passing of Daphne Jean West (Warrin) peacefully, with her family by her side on Friday, March 11, 2022, she was 93.
Daphne was the supportive wife of her husband Stephen (2012) for over 60 years. Her children Pamela (Rick), Stephanie (Barry), Jason (Erika) and Warren (2005) are heartbroken and her 9 grandchildren will never forget their Nana .
Mom was warm and approachable, intelligent and savvy all the while displaying a spirited sense of humour. She could be a colourful and charismatic force in any setting. Not surprising she was an impassioned royalist and loyal subject to the Queen, right down to the Beefeater gin used to make her beloved martinis. For all but the last weeks of her remarkable life Daphne did what she wanted, where she wanted, when she wanted and most importantly with whom she wanted. That includes now, as she had requested there be no formal service but rather a celebration of her life when family and friends can gather again to remember the special lady most of us just called Mom.
Our family would especially like to recognize the staff on 2A at SAH for the care, compassion and patience they displayed while Mom was in their merciful hands, we cannot thank you enough.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice. We thank you in advance. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East, 705-759-2522). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be made at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the West family.
