It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William Robert “Bob” Short after a brief illness on June 9, 2021 at the age of 83. Bob passed away peacefully with his son Christopher and close friend Penny Skilnik having been at his side in the hospital. Born September 7, 1937 in Saskatoon, SK the son of Robert Pringle Short and Christine Tina Strelioff. Bob is lovingly remembered by his son Christopher (Coral); his brother George (Margaret) of Vancouver; his five grandchildren: Katie, Megan, Abby, Sarah and Owen of Ohio; nieces Stacey (Malaysia) and Lesley (California); and cousins: Adeline Rockett, Grace Popoff (Albert), Dr. Shirley Perry, Don Cheveldayoff (Merviana), Penny Laycock (Kenneth), Jackie Murray (Don), Judy Long (Garry), Ron Sim, Bert Sim, Gordon Sipko (Georgina), Dale Sipko (Karen), Jeff Short, and Ron Robertson. Bob was predeceased by his mother and father, his son Robert Allan Short (Bobby) and close friend Dave Perry. Bob was proud of his family and extended family of friends and their accomplishments. He never missed sending Birthday wishes or celebrating holidays with those he loved. His grandchildren were very special to him, and he cherished all the time they spent together. A man of faith, he was devoted to his church and community - he was a living example of Ephesians 4:32. Bob was compassionate, generous, and never too busy to help a friend or associate. Throughout his business life, with Woolco and Walmart, he was truly appreciative and grateful of all employees and their contributions to the organizations. Bob also served on the Board of Directors for Camp Tamarack for many years and this non-profit had a special place in his heart. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Camp Tamarack in his honour. His most enduring legacy will most noticeably be as a father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Bob was much loved and will be deeply missed by both family and friends. The Celebration of Bob’s Life was planned for Saturday, September 25, 2021 at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church in Saskatoon.
