In accordance with Walter’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
Born to Mary and Alexander Rusel in Dauphin, Manitoba. He was the youngest child of six siblings.
He loved to learn and continued his education throughout his career and life. He graduated from Purdue University. He taught at SAIT as a gas and pipe fitting instructor. He was a plumber by trade and worked very hard to support his family.
He had a great love for music. He loved to play the harmonica. He was a member of barber shop quartets. He was in all of the musical productions that were put on by the Stakes as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a member of the Keith Wood Men's choir where he loved singing and entertaining.
He also had a great love for Genealogy. Researching his own family through Eastern Europe and especially Ukraine from which his parents were from. He helped many others with their search for family.
He is survived by five children, Michael (Janet) Rusel, Darcy Rusel, Laurey (David) Olsen, Alexander (Brenda) Rusel, Rebecca Williams. 18 Grandchildren, and 30 great Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by a daughter Tamera (Conrad) Heninger.
Walter was loved and will be missed by many. Hope he is happy reuniting with family and friends that have been waiting for him.
