He was born at the Hansen homestead near Engelfeld, Sask on August 26, 1916. Wallace attended school in Engelfeld, Humboldt and later at the Robertson Business School in Saskatoon.
He married Helen Stadelmann in 1940 and farmed near Engelfeld for 20 years. The family moved to Saskatoon in 1960 where Wallace worked, primarily for the Saskatoon Co-operators until his retirement in 1982.
Wallace was predeceased by his son Leslie in 1975 and his wife Helen in 1990. Those left to cherish his memory are: children Lloyd (Marilyn) Hansen of Crow’s Nest Pass, Lyle(Marilyn)Hansen of Moose Jaw, Albert Leon Hansen of Saskatoon, Lois(Vern)Rourke of Regina and Lorrie Hansen(Martin Stockwell) of Saskatoon; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Pauline Breker, and numerous nephews and nieces.
Dad had great strength and integrity and, along with Helen, was a great role model. He had a beautiful bass singing voice and was a wonderful whistler. He had a great sense of humor and loved making puns and playing harmless pranks on unsuspecting family members, friends and pets. He will be greatly missed.
Thank you to Dr. Johanne Kriegler and the Extendicare staff for taking such good care of Wallace.
