Sheila Mary Allan was born in Tisdale Saskatchewan on September 10, 1933 to parents Lessel and Isabella Allan. She attended school in Florentine district then in 1945 they moved to Tisdale Saskatchewan where she graduated high school. After graduating Sheila worked for Saskatchewan Government Telephones in Tisdale then transferred to Saskatoon. In August of 1955 she married John Albert Willms of Dundurn Saskatchewan. They had three children, Robert Allan- 1956, Scot Bryan – 1959, Bruce John – 1963. Sheila and John farmed in the Dundurn district. After Johns passing in 1981 Sheila remarried Gary Freeden in 1983. They resided in Dundurn for many years and were very well known for their impressive displays of flower gardens and Christmas lights.
Sheila enjoyed curling and was very active at the local rink for many years. She was a member of the Eastern Star, United Church and through Gary Communities in Bloom. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, ceramics and gardening. She was a seamstress and made many of her son’s clothes when they were young.
Sheila is lovingly remembered by her three sons; Rob (Margaretrose (deceased 2017)), Scot, Bruce (Maria), seven grandchildren, Robert, Devin, Raylene, Jordan, Tanisyn of Rob and Margaretrose and Tyson and Brandon of Bruce and Maria. She had eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband John Albert Willms and her second husband Gary Freeden. She was the last surviving member of the Lessel Allan family of Tisdale and area.
A Graveside Service will be held in Dundurn at a later date.
