A former resident of Chetwynd B.C. Milton was born in Saskatchewan on September 20, 1932, to parents Jake and Violet Leffler in the community of Kandahar, Saskatchewan. Milton was raised in the prairies and it was at a small community dance in Brockington where Milton would meet and fall in love with his beloved Phyllis. November 6, 1953 Milton and Phyllis were wed and they welcomed Daughter Marilyn in September 1954 and Son Lance in January 1956 and they found themselves living in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and eventually settled in Chetwynd, British Columbia in the summer of 1965.
Throughout his life Milton did a number of different jobs some of which included working in the mines and being an ironworker. Milton and Phyllis enjoyed dancing and many people have fond memories of watching them on the dance floor. Milton and Phyllis remained in Chetwynd until retirement where they decided to travel and eventually sold their home in Chetwynd to spend their winters in Arizona and come home to the peace region for the summers. Always close to their children Marilyn and Lance they enjoyed being around to watch their 4 grandchildren grow and eventually they would welcome some great grandchildren.
Milton is predeceased by his parents Jake and Violet Leffler, numerous siblings, wife Phyllis in 2001, daughter Marilyn in 2008, and son Lance 2009. Milton would find a life partner Madeleine and they would continue to travel and eventually they would settle in Creston B.C. for a number of years before they would relocate to Saskatoon where they would live amongst many of Milton’s family, remaining siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.
Milton leaves to mourn Daughter in Law Jean (Lance), Grandchildren Shayne, Sharlyn, Rob, & Carmen (Kerwin), Great Grandchildren Habib, Eden, Reid, Gage, Talitha, Kaison & Stryder, Great great grandchildren Isla & Meadow, his remaining siblings; sister Marjorie, sister Florence, sister Evelyn (Dave) and brother Ross (Jeanne), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Milton’s final wishes he asked that there not be a funeral service, but he will be laid to rest beside his wife, daughter and son in Chetwynd, B.C. in the summer of 2022. Arrangements in care of Aime Laventure – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200
