Richard is survived by his wife Louise, daughter Kim (Wayne) Evans, son Jason (Nichole) Andre, grandsons Dorian and Wyatt, brothers Paul (Aline) Andre, Gary Andre, sister Regina (Don) Orr. He was predeceased by his parents Paul and Leda Andre, brothers Edward, Wilfred, Clarence and sister-in-law Collette Andre.
Richard was born and raised in Prud’homme. He was the sixth of seven children of Paul and Leda Andre. His working years were spent as a drywaller and farmer. Richard’s farm was very dear to him. He enjoyed spending time there whether it was just mowing the grass, feeding peanuts to his pet gophers or simply sitting with a cup of tea and listening to the peaceful quiet.
Richard and Louise worked hard together planting a large garden on the farm and maintaining a beautiful yard in town. They loved to visit friends; playing cards and telling stories, and going for long drives in the country on quiet Sunday afternoons.
Richard’s special interest included hunting, trapping and fishing and he loved sharing his knowledge of these pastimes with his son Jason, dragging him along to check his traps or scouting for that monster whitetail deer buck.
Richard also had a special place in his heart for his two grandsons. We have fond memories of him dancing with them in his arms when they were toddlers with Johnny Cash cranked up on the stereo.
Over the years Richard greatly enjoyed his daughter Kim’s visits from Alberta and developed a close relationship with his son-in-law Wayne, often entertaining Wayne with stories and adventures from his younger days.
