Marion Elizabeth "Betty" MacKenzie

April 14, 1929 – October 9, 2018

Betty passed away at the age of 89. She was predeceased by her husbands Jim Caister and Bill MacKenzie; her parents Myrtle and Clifford Robertson; her brothers Don, Bill, and Ian; and sisters Ann, Ellen, and Barbara. Mom was born in Macklin, SK, and moved to Saskatoon where she attended Victoria School, Nutana Collegiate, and Saskatoon Technical Institute where she obtained business/secretarial training. She enjoyed her independence and worked throughout her life, spending many years at Eaton’s and later volunteering at St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation. Mom led an active life golfing up until she was 80. She was also very interested in her heritage and had become involved with Scottish Country Dancing. She is survived by her children David Caister, Cathy (Pat) Dodman, Iris Caister, Judy (Alden) Forest; grandchildren Colton Caister, Patrick Dodman, Bobby Dodman, Kristen Forest; 4 great-grandchildren; brother Cliff (Eileen) Robertson; sister Kay Stow; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the caring staff at Royal University Hospital CTU. At Mom’s request there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
