It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear
mother, grandmother, and great grandmother on November 1 at Porteous Villa.
Gloria was born in Amulet, Saskatchewan. The family later moved to
Saskatoon where both Gloria and her twin sister Gladys graduated as RN's
from St. Paul's Grey Nuns Class of '58. Gloria took time away from nursing to
marry, raise her family and later returned to work with the Red Cross until her
retirement.
Gloria was generous, kind, and patient. She had a great sense of humour, was
an amazing cook, and cherished her family more than anything else.
Gloria will be lovingly remembered by her four daughters Sandra (Jaye) Ebner,
Deanna (Dave) Knight, CarolLynn (Rob) Rongve, Janet (Ken) Bart; her
grandchildren Carly Ebner, Laurel Ebner, Allison (John) Houseman, Robyn
(Leighland) Knight, Antje (Mark Richardson) Rongve, Rachel Rongve, Ross
(Chantelle) Bart, Cameron Bart and Devon (Danielle) Bart; her great
grandchildren Maude and Gloria Houseman, May and Charlie Richardson;
sister Gladys Fosti; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Gloria was predeceased by her parents Philip and Eva Schindelka, her brother
Raymond Schindelka, her brother in law Bill Fosti, and sister in law Norma Schindelka.
The family is so very grateful to Kathy and the amazing staff at Porteous for the
compassion and exceptional care they have provided over the past four years.
The funeral will be held on Friday, November 15 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church,
222 Willow Street, Saskatoon.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jubilee Residences.
