EMMA MURIERL MYERS (BARR) passed away peacefully at Sunnyside Nursing Home on her 93rd birthday, Wednesday, December 23, 2015. Emma was born in Sonningdale to Eldon & Rhoda Barr in 1922. Emma took her schooling at Gunnis School (Sonningdale) and also attended bible school in Saskatoon and North Battleford. She married Robert (Bob) Myers on April 6, 1955 and they started their life together owning the Red & White Store in Radisson. After leaving Radisson they farmed and worked in the Saskatoon area. Emma worked as a nurse’s aide at the Sherbrooke Nursing Home and Eventide Nursing Home before retiring.
Emma is survived by her son, Gordon (Michele); daughter Cheryl; and son Milton (Kim); grandchildren, Kelsey (Nolin) Tyler, Shea (Rick), Ricki (Darcy), Micheal (Tracy); great grandchildren, Owen, Brooke, and Riley; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Emma was predeceased by her husband Bob in 1995, and son Dale in 2012.
The Memorial Service will be held on Friday January 8, 2016 at 2.00 p.m. at Acadia McKague’s Funeral Center, 915 Acadia Drive, Saskatoon.
The family would like to extend their Thanks to all the staff at Sunnyside Nursing Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
