Delorus Joyce Elliott

August 12, 1947 –September 25, 2023

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Delorus on Monday, September 25, 2023 at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She was predeceased by her parents Jack and Rose Burback and beloved sister Debbie and husband Gary Ritzand. Delorus’ memory is forever cherished by her husband Gord Elliott, her children Kimberly (Michel) Chiasson, Krystal (Al) Gargol, Shauna Hoyle (Jason), her step children Karen (Sean) and Lori (Alan), her grandchildren: Jade, Brooke, Toran, Ryland, Joe, Isaac, Claire and Samuel and her great granddaughter Nailah and sister Cindy (Brent) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Delorus was born in Port Arthur, Ontario. She went to public schools in Saskatchewan, high school in Rosthern and attended Saskatoon Business College to become a secretary. Throughout her career she worked at University Hospital, Saskatoon Public School Board and then at James Alexander School where she retired in 2007. She then with her husband Gord travelled for many winters in the USA. They so enjoyed travelling in the truck and 5th wheel to destinations wherever the wind blew them. Delorus and Gord spent their summers at Turtle Lake Lodge where numerous memories were made with family and friends. She had a loving heart and enjoyed playing cards, dancing and country music. Delorus especially cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren. She was strong, caring and wore her heart on her sleeve.

Delorus will be immensely missed by many.

Memorial donations in Delorus’ memory may be made to a charity of choice.

Celebration of Delorus’ Life will be 12:00 noon on Wednesday October 4, 2023 at Windsor Chapel (704 Windsor Street Saskatoon).
