Christina (Chris) passed away peacefully at the Preston Extendicare nursing home after a lengthy battle with dementia at the age of 91. She will be dearly missed and remembered by her husband George of 68.5 years, son Ronald (Sandra) and daughter Cindy; sister Mary, sister-in-law Emma; 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and siblings Adam, Jean, Betty, Jess, their spouses, niece Donna, and son-in-law Lanny. Chris, born near Yarbo, SK was educated in a country school then moved to Winnipeg with her 4 sisters to be employed as a stenographer. This is where she met George on a dance floor which became their lifelong passion. Chris worked the farm alongside George for 40+ years until retirement when they moved to Saskatoon. Thirty one of those winters were spent in Arizona travelling to as many Polka Festivals as possible. Travel also took them to Cuba, Jamaica, Hawaii, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Europe. Chris was an avid gardener, canner, seamstress and amazing baker. Her cinnamon buns and brown bread were her grandchildren’s favorite. To honor Christina’s wishes there will be a private family celebration of her life at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Chelsea Krentz.
