Chase Bradshaw

Chase (aka “Chaser”, “Acer”, “Ace”) was born on August 19, 1989 in Saskatoon and was the youngest of the three “Bradshaw Brothers”. Chase loved his brothers Jay and Torrie deeply and they were a huge influence in his life. Numerous camping trips, a couple of moves to San Diego and weekends at grandparents’ farms, enriched his childhood days, instilled in him a love for travel and adventure and strengthened family bonds. Having teacher parents and his Dad, as his primary coach was also central to his development.

Chase was a thoughtful, highly principled, and humble individual, immensely loved by his family and friends. He was blessed with many wonderful friendships throughout his life and considered friends an extension of family. He, along with his closest friends, cherished escaping on their annual ‘Canore’ canoe trips, skiing with their ‘Nordic Party Ski Club’, and battling for supremacy for 19 seasons in their ‘SQW’ fantasy football league. Chase also loved listening to music, curating his records, adding to his hat collection and finding a good coffee shop wherever he went.

Chase was a gifted student whose aptitude for Math and Physical Education guided his future as a mechanical engineer and athlete. After graduating from Evan Hardy Collegiate in 2007, he completed his B.Sc. in Engineering at U. of S. in 2013 and his MBA through the University of Mannheim, Germany in 2021. Chase was extremely proud to have worked for BHP for the past eight years, playing an integral role in the Jansen Potash Project. He was an engineer to his core, always creating spectacular spreadsheets and lists in all areas of his life.

Chase was a remarkable athlete and respected leader and teammate. He competed in hockey, baseball, lacrosse and football, playing quarterback in High School, Junior, University and then the Semi-pro level in Germany. His last competitions took place in Miami and Panama where he twice represented Canada for World Men’s Flag Football. While he led an array of teams to numerous wins and championships over the years, the lifelong friendships Chase forged during these experiences, especially with the Saskatoon Hilltops, carried the greatest meaning for him.

Beyond his achievements, Chase was most proud of his family - his son, Ace, and his wife, the love of his life and inseparable best friend, Jenna. They were married for four years, but their love story spanned 20 years. They accomplished so much together, and their most treasured time was the two years they spent living and working in Germany. Their devotion and love for each other remains truly inspiring and Ace is the joy of their life. Against insurmountable odds, they navigated Chase’s cancer journey with courage, grace and resilience beyond their years. Chase’s selfless care and concern for Jenna, Ace, his family and others, was the ultimate measure of his character and perhaps his greatest legacy of all.

Chase is survived by his wife Jenna (Baptist), their 17-month-old son Ace, parents Bruce and Kathy, brothers Jay (René) and Torrie (Alyssa), mother-in-law Bev Baptist, brother-in-law Tyler (Candice), grandmother Carole Bearss and numerous other relatives. He is predeceased by his grandfather Ed Bearss, grandparents Jim & Evelyn Bradshaw, and father-in-law Kevin Baptist.

Chase has touched many lives. We invite you to attend his celebration of life on Saturday, Nov 12th at 11am at Prairieland Exhibition Park, Hall B. A private interment for immediate family will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, and everyone is invited to sit on Chase’s private bench when it is installed in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, Chase has asked that support of any form be given to his son. Any monetary gift will be put in a “piggybank” which has been established for Ace’s future. If you would like to contribute, please contact the Bradshaw or Baptist family.
