Arthur James Davies passed away peacefully in his sleep Friday June 15, 2017 in Saskatoon, SK, at the age of 92. He had been a trapper for much of his adult life. Most of which was spent north of Lintlaw, SK on the edge of the porcupine forest. He retired from trapping shortly after turning 65 and moved to Lintlaw, SK where he resided until December of 2016. He then moved to a care home in Saskatoon, SK where he could be close to his remaining family.
Arthur was born and raised on a farm near Spalding, SK to his parents Frances Vandora and Evan Thomas Davies on November 14, 1924. He was the eldest of 13 children. Arthur was predeceased by his parents; his brothers Harry, Clifford, Williams(Bill), Edgar, Thomas; his sister Faye Mortenson; two sisters-in-law Margaret Davies and Peggy Davies; three brothers-in-law; Mervin Mortenson, Edwin Thordarson and Everet Peters; two nieces Angela Davies and Vicky Davies and nephew Harley Peters. Arthur is survived by two brothers Chris of Saskatoon, SK and Larry of Lloydminster SK, four sisters Margaret Davies and Kathleen (Mervyn) Nordick of Saskatoon, SK, Dorothy Gibson of Edmonton, AB and Minna (Willie) Nordick of Hepburn, SK; sister-in-law Rose Davies and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arthur did not wish to have a funeral or any official gathering. His cremated remains will be attended to at a later date.
