Suzanne was born on November 4, 1943 in Paris, Ontario, graduating from Paris District High School. She later moved to Toronto, Ontario where she met and married Paul Blair, having two children, David (Sarasota, FL) and Pamela (Whistler, BC). She was predeceased by her loving parents, Bruce and Ruth Smith.
Suzanne vacationed in Florida with her family from an early age, eventually settling on a part-time residence on Siesta Key in 1987, where she met the love of her life, Michael Wilton. The two would enjoy decades of living life to the fullest, creating memories together on Siesta Key and frequenting close friends in St. Johns, Newfoundland and London, England.
Known by her friends and family as “Suzy”, she gave so much to so many and was adored by all. An avid cook, Suzy hosted countless gatherings for friends and family, establishing holiday traditions and recipes that enriched the lives of everyone she knew. Her class and grace were unmatched, and the care she took when doing things for others was always felt.
Upon an aggressive diagnosis of breast cancer in 2006, Suzy relocated to Guelph, Ontario, where she was blessed with the incredible support and friendships of the MacCallum family, Stan Kozak & Leanne Johns, Bob Bell & Anna Shaftoe, Jeff Guse, and others. Her strength and resolve led to a full recovery against all odds, and she would go on to maintain these friendships and create another fourteen years of memories with her friends and loved ones.
Suzy is survived by her loving partner of 32 years: Michael Wilton; her children: David Blair and Pamela Deane (Wayne); her grandchildren of whom her pride knew no bounds: Alex Blair (Lindsey), Victoria Blair, Chantal Deane, Cassidy Deane, and JJ Deane; numerous family and friends: Carmen Blair, Carol Hulley, Sharon Corner, Jane Todd, Graci & Dennis McGillicuddy, Dr. Braun & Jeanne Graham, the Gerrett, Opitz, Cannon, Blom, Collingwood, and Hutton families, and so many others.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations can made in Suzy’s name to Tidewell Foundation: https://tidewellfoundation.org/donate/
