The oldest child of Dr. Norman Nash and Barbara Nash, he was born March 16,1950 in Jamaica, New York.
After his parents moved south in 1951, Roger grew up in the Miami area, graduating from Miami Palmetto Senior High School in 1968. In school, Roger was an accomplished student, musician and athlete - playing the saxophone in the marching band as well as being skilled on the piano and oboe. He was a very hard worker, also devoting the time to be a solid contributor on his high school swim team.
Roger followed in his father’s footsteps, graduating from The University of Alabama, and then becoming a physician, receiving his medical degree from the University of Miami in 1976.
After completing his medical residency, Roger practiced Radiology for over 45 years, primarily in central Florida. Roger treated thousands of people over the course of his career and was an amazing and caring physician.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Roger was a passionate sports enthusiast rooting for both his Alma maters - the Crimson Tide and Hurricanes - as well as the Dolphins and Marlins. Roger also enjoyed reading and history, often sharing his insights with others.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, Roger is survived by Janet, his beloved wife of 30 years; their twin sons Zachary and Brandon; his daughter Regan (Rich); son Ryan (Nikki) and his precious granddaughter Grace. He also leaves behind his loyal furry companion, Cali, who was always by his side.
He will be greatly missed by his mother Barbara; siblings Craig (Deirdre), Alicia (Tom) and Kerry (Claudia) and all of his extended family and friends. Roger was predeceased by his father Dr. Norman Nash, in 2016.
A celebration of Roger’s life will be held at The Palace at Coral Gables, 1 Andalusia Avenue, Coral Gables Florida on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 11:00AM for family and friends.
