peacefully on May 17, 2022, the day after his 47th wedding anniversary.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Livesay Levi; his two sons, Corwin
Drew Levi and Kevin Matthew Levi; Kevin's wife Kristin Quirk, and his
brother David Winterton Levi II.
Richard was a career government attorney for 34 years, working for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, as legal counsel for the Tennessee Valley Authority's Office of the Inspector General, and as legal counsel for GSA's Office of the Inspector General in Washington, DC.
Richard coached his sons’ teams of baseball, soccer, and basketball throughout their childhood and became their Boy Scout scoutmaster. He also enjoyed woodworking in his garage workshop, tennis, and hiking. He lived a life of integrity, strength, generosity, and dedication to his family and work, topped off with an infectious laugh that only grew louder as he grew older. Richard died with the same qualities intact after a six-year struggle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. He loved, and was loved in return, and will be deeply missed. His life will be celebrated with a private memorial with family.
