He graduated from Lowell High and completed two years of college before serving in the US Marines for four years. He enjoyed a career as a firefighter for the city of Lowell for 32 years, retiring as Deputy Chief.
He retired in Florida and spent his time playing golf with his best friend Bob Morrill and volunteering at Oscar Shearer State Park. He enjoyed meeting his many great friends for lunch and drinks. He shared his love of gardening and pets with his friends and neighbors at Milano. He had a generous heart and was always willing to help in any way he could.
He is survived by two sisters, Carol Inniss and her husband Robert of Merrimack NH and Maureen St. John and her husband Elmer of Greenville, NH as well as many nieces and a nephew.
A gathering for Michael will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 9:00 AM at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Avenue, Sarasota, FL 34232. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 10:30 AM at St Patrick Catholic Church, 7900 Bee Ridge Rd, Sarasota, FL 34241. A committal service will occur Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 FL-72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
