Joseph Edmond "Eddie" Bouchard, Sr., 96, passed away of natural causes at Freedom Village on November 7, 2010. He was the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Alfred Bouchard of Woonsocket, Rhode Island.
He was born in Worcester, Mass. on January 6, 1914 and resident of Sarasota and Bradenton, Florida since 1938.
Joseph, better known as "Eddie", proudly owned and operated The Sarasota Body Shop since 1947 until he retired in 1982. He was "The Best Darn Auto Body Man in town". There wasn't anyone that didn't like "Eddie", and he also the same, and was always a "friend to those in need".
Joseph was preceded in death by his loving wife, Irene L. Bouchard of 54 years; son, Robert Henry Bouchard, Sr. of Chattanooga, Tenn; his brother, Charles "Charlie" L. Bouchard of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, and 9 sisters.
Survivors are daughter, Barbara Jean Jackson (Darrell) of Sarasota; sons, Joseph E. Bouchard, Jr., Hilliard, FL., Donald Arthur Bouchard, Sr., Bradenton; a sister, Theresa Palumbo (Nick) of North Carolina; 13 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and many great, great grandchildren; many good friends & distant relatives, nieces & nephews.
He will missed and loved by all.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 12 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Palms Robarts Funeral Home, Sarasota.
Funeral Mass will be held 10:00am Saturday, November 13 at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 833 Magellan Dr., Sarasota, followed by burial in Sarasota Memorial Park.
