Elizabeth Helen Jones

Elizabeth was born on November 9, 1934, in New Haven, Connecticut. She was the daughter of Marie Carey Broga and Theodore Broga. She met and later married Arthur Robert Jones, and they were together for sixty years until his passing. During the 1960’s, while raising their five children, she independently studied nutrition and supplements. She eventually worked in a nutrition store and loved sharing her knowledge. Elizabeth was devoted to her family. She was a care giver and continued to give of herself at St. Wilfred’s Church food pantry. She is remembered for her compassion for everyone. She always had a smile and quietly enjoyed just being with her family.

Elizabeth is also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Robert Jones, her parents, Marie and Theodore Broga, and her sister, Laura Marie Lutz of Manchester, Connecticut.

Survivors include her children Curtis Arthur Jones of Sebastian, Florida, Sherri Jo Medler of Boynton Beach, Florida, Kathleen Elizabeth Dearden of Sarasota, Florida, Arthur Scott Jones of Orlando, Florida, and Beth Anne Koons of Spring City, Tennessee. She has ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A memorial gathering for Elizabeth will take place on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 12-3 PM at Robert Toale and Sons – Wiegand Chapel, 7454 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34231.
