Born in Medford, MA, on October 21st, 1927 to George Murray Campbell and Irene Smith Campbell. he attended Friends School in Baltimore and graduated from Syracuse University.
Following college, he served honorably in the United States Army, finishing his military career as a Major in the Army Reserves.
Edward began his professional career with the Chicago Sun Times and Daily News in the advertising department. In 1965, he became the Assistant National Advertising Manager for the St. Louis Post Dispatch later becoming the National Advertising Manager. He then moved to the Sporting News as the National Advertising Director.
In Florida, he was the publishing editor of the Sun Coast Health Magazine.
He enjoyed traveling, golf, theater guild and serving his community including playing Santa Clause for Toys for Tots each year prior to his declining health.
He is survived by his two daughters, Sylvia Sanchez of Racine, WI and her fiancé, Jeff Poole, and Karen (Larry) Gloeckler of Albany, NY; his grandchildren, L. Miguel Sanchez of Racine, WI, Larisa Sanchez and her husband Everett "EJ" Klapperich of Oklahoma City, OK, Larry Gloeckler III and Kristin Gloeckler, both of Albany, NY;
his brother, fred Campbell of Colorado Springs, CO and his sister, Anna May Conarty of Casper, WY. He will also be missed by Marilyn Brinks, the mother of his children and caregiver in Sarasota.
