Donald Miller Duncan also known as “Papa Don” passed away on Thursday September 21, 2017. He was born in Marion, Indiana on December 28, 1932. He grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana and graduated from Broad Ripple High School. He later attended Butler University where he received a football scholarship. In 1972 he moved to Siesta Key, Florida and called it home until his passing. His greatest achievements are his four children; Jeff Duncan, Debbie Duncan-Lucyk, Steve Duncan and Sally Duncan-Griffith. He also leaves nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson Steven Griffith. Besides his children and grandchildren, his crowning achievement was winning the Ernest Hemingway lookalike contest in 1998, thus becoming “Papa Don”. He loved being a Papa and went to Key West every year as a judge. He also cherished playing Santa Claus to local underprivileged children. Don loved his family, Siesta Key, and being a Papa. He will be forever missed.
