Father, I will miss you very much.  You were the rock in our family and I could count on you for everything.  Thank you for teaching me how to boat, fish, water ski, excel in academics, use tools and become a man.  I loved your sense of humor, friendly smile and how your were so cordial with people.  Everything I have recently heard, from the people you have touched over your lifetime, reinstates the wonderful person I knew you to be.  You lived an incredible life the way you wanted to live it.  Your life was successful in so many ways.  I admire that.  Love, your son.  Michael

I just want to say how grateful I am for everyone who expressed their condolences and shared memories about David. He was thoughtful in many ways and I loved hearing about how he affected everyone's lives. God bless each one of you.   Sara.

There are so many good things to say about our friend Dave. He was a coach that would inspire the best players as well as the beginners.  He never gave up on anyone.  One of his favorite sayings “No Problem”, which meant he made time for everyone.  Dave was a gifted coach with the patience of a saint.  It didn’t matter whether he was talking about softball or his favorite hobbies or sports.   When it came to fishing, it was a good day no matter what he caught or didn’t catch. 
He taught me more than just being a coach on the field.  Dave was a true friend, mentor and a genuine “Nice Person”.  My children adored him for his coaching and who he was.  He will be remembered by all as a larger than life person with a great big heart.

Thank you, Dave, for being my mentor and friend.
I hope to see you on the other side.

I was very fortunate to have Dave as my Softball coach for many years. He was a great influence on many of the lives of the young women he coached. Dave cared so much about his players and their continued success in life. He was a calm gentle and patient  force on the field and knew how to get the best out of you. I hold dear to my heart the memories of Dave driving his van to many softball tournaments with us crazy girls in tow.  He was so tolerant and kind to our silly antics!! He always knew the best bbq rib places too even when we were on the road. I will always remember Dave and he will be greatly missed! 

We have been blessed to know the Cohen family since probably before I was born. I grew up playing softball with Dave as one of my coaches. I spent numerous Super Bowls at their house hanging out at the grill watching him cook hot dogs. I remember Lisa babysitting me and my siblings too. I couldn't have asked for a nicer person to look up to and have in my life. Thank you for filling my childhood with happiness.

I first met David when I sold my business and wanted to invest the money for our future. My husband, Robert Schnering, knew him from other investors. He was such a warm and inviting person. We talked about how broke we were when we started out and how we had learned to be frugal and still watched our expenditures. We were happy for him when he retired, but missed seeing him. He set us up with his son Michael and we have been very happy working with him. I always asked about David whenever I talk to Michael. I know he was a very special person and was loved by his family and his clients. We will miss him. I am so sorry for his family's loss. Smile and think of all the special things about him.  May your hearts be at peace.

When I joined Lakewood Ranch Investment Forum in May 2019, I was delighted to meet Dave - A fellow Merrill Lyncher, and I felt at home. He even knew a person from my ML office in NYC. I'll miss him.

Sara, Michael and Family,
We were so sad to hear about the passing of Dave and please know that we are thinking about you at this difficult time. We are making a donation to Children's Cancer Research Fund in Dave's name.
We have enjoyed our many  lunches together, fun conversations and the Cohen's friendship through the years.
We owe so much to Dave and to Michael for his continuous help.
