Tom grew up in Chickasaw, Alabama where he was a graduate of Chickasaw Academy Class of 1974. It was there he met his wife of 49 years, Teresa Barfoot Callan.
Tom was employed at Scott Paper Company for 26 years and retired from Turner Industries in 2021. In 1981, Tom put his faith and trust in Jesus Christ. His life and the lives of his family were forever changed by the gospel. Tom was a natural born leader, whether at work, church or home. God blessed him with a gift to clearly communicate the truths of God’s word. He faithfully led a Bible Study class at Redemption Church for 36 years. He enjoyed sitting around with family or friends discussing spiritual truths.
Tom was a faithful, godly, loving husband and father. Only eternity will reveal the impact of his life on others. All he wanted to hear when he arrived in heaven was, well done my good and faithful servant.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Callan, Sr., and Frances Roberts; and his sister, Judi St. Clair.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Teresa Barfoot Callan; children, Michelle Haynes (Jason) and Allison Robley (Ray); grandchildren, Hunter Callan (Libby), Braxton Weiss, Cooper Robley, and Ellington Robley; great grandson John Thomas Callan; brothers, Pat Callan (Shirley) and Kelly Carrigan (Lea), also survived by many other relatives and friends.
As Tom’s family words cannot adequately express the depth of gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers and support. Our Church families at Redemption Church and First Baptist Enterprise have blessed us beyond measure.
“For I am confident of this very thing., that he who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus” Philippians 1:6
