She was preceded in death by her parents, Daisy and Samuel Thomas Hudson; her husband, Leslie Patrick Mullin, Jr.; brothers, J.K. Hudson and Waymon Hudson and sisters, Arlene Hudson Williams, Golda Hudson Wilson, Janie Bell Hudson, and Cessa Hudson.
Marjorie worked first as a bookkeeper and then in sales for Home Furniture Company and then for Everett Furniture Company. In 1978, at the age of 61, she obtained her Real Estate license and started a career working for Hudson Real Estate and then for Meaher Real Estate until she retired in 1987 to nurse her ailing husband. Upon retirement Margie, as she was known to family and friends, became active in the Chickasaw Women's Club, the Chickasaw Garden Club and delivered Meals-On-Wheels for 17 years. She served on the Chickasaw Board of Adjustment for 35 years and was nominated for Chickasaw Citizen of the Year in 2007 and 2008. In her "spare time", Margie was a member of the Eastern Star and was appointed Mother Advisor to chapter 19 of the Rainbow Girls, a post she held for 8 years. She was awarded the P. Richard Scroll of Merit for her work with the Rainbow Girls. Margie was a positive influence and an inspiration in the lives of many young women as she worked her way up to the post of Worthy Matron of the Ethel Ramsey Chapter of the Eastern Star. Margie was also an active member of Chickasaw First Baptist Church, serving on various church committees, teaching Sunday School for many years and regularly visiting church members who were unable to attend church. To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was simply known as "Granny".
Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Gerry Persons (Bill) of Mobile, AL; her son, Patrick Mullin, III (Fran) of Ft. Myers, FL; grandchildren, Steffanie Persons of St. Augustine, FL, Lauren Persons Bartlett of Atlanta, GA, Christopher Mullin (Amian) of Ft. Myers, FL, and Katie Siari of Ft. Myers, FL.
She is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren, Matthew Bartlett (Brooklyn), Dylan Bartlett, Jerad Bartlett, Eli Siari, and Fiona Mullin, along with beloved nieces and nephews including Karen McDougal (Johnny), Johnny Hudson (Pam), Tommy Hudson (Donna), Joan Dixon (Peter), and Terry Wilson (Kitty) and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 12 Noon until 2 P.M. on Monday, June 25, 2012 and the funeral service will be at 2 o'clock at Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Parkway, Saraland, AL 36571 with Dr. Dudley Wilson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Bartlett, Dylan Bartlett, Jerad Bartlett, Cory Hudson, Clark Hudson, Rusty Lomax, Tommy Byers and Tim Hudson.
Interment will follow at Pine Crest Cemetery on Dauphin Island Pkwy in Mobile, AL.
