Margie Madeline Bush White – age 91, born October 6, 1920 in Pinola, MS, and a longtime resident of Eight Mile passed away at a family home on Thursday, March 15, 2012. Mrs. White was a retired sales clerk who worked for Hammel’s Department Store and Woolco during her career. She was a longtime member of Myers Memorial Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and loved singing in the choir. She was a 1937 graduate of Murphy High School and was a longtime member of the Azalea Chapter #392 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and creating crafts for her family, and was an avid antique collector. Mrs. White was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Leon White; parents, Claude A. and Leona Bass Bush; son, Claude Andrew White; and brother, Claude A. Bush, Jr. She is survived by her children, William L. White (Cookie) of Daphne, Robert E. White (Brenda) of Harvey, LA, Richard W. White (Carol) of Saraland, and Margie Madeline Blanchard of Loxley; sister, Patricia B. Jones of Virginia Beach, VA; brother, Philip L. Bush (Blanche) of Augusta, GA; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to express its gratitude to Mercy Medical Home Health Care and Mercy Medical Hospice for their excellent care and support. Funeral services will be held from Myers Memorial Baptist Church in Eight Mile on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 10 a.m. with Rev. J. Lloyd Brown officiating. The family will receive friends at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Sunday, March 18, from 6-8 p.m. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
