Logan Slade Farnell

Logan Slade Farnell, age 17, left this life on Sunday, September 28, 2014. A native of Mobile and resident of Saraland, Logan was born on May 9, 1997 and is the son of John Dwight and Daphne Pulliam Farnell.

He was a senior at Saraland High School and ranked 3rd in his class with an Advanced Academic Diploma with Honors. Logan was the first AP student to receive a qualifying score on the Advanced Placement exam in Science at Saraland High. Among his many leadership roles, he was the vice president of the National Honor Society, a member of Mu Alpha Thea math honorary and president of the Spanish Club. Logan was senior troop leader of Satsuma Boy Scout Troop #32 and was working towards his Eagle Scout badge. He was a volunteer with Ronald McDonald House, Bay Area Food Bank and worked with Keep Mobile initiatives. He was an avid donor to Locks of Love.

Logan was a loving son, grandson, brother, nephew and friend. He is survived by his parents; his siblings D.J. Farnell, Myles Kelley, and Madison Lee Farnell; his grandparents Bernice Rowell Farnell, and Jerry L. and Barbara Pulliam of Chickasaw; his aunts and uncles: Marion and Dina Farnell, Aldon and Renee Farnell, Thomas and Sue Farnell Williams, Doug and Renee Farnell McElhenney, Doug and Rhonda Pulliam Davis, and Jerry L. Pulliam, Jr. of Birmingham; and his cat Midnight. He is predeceased by his paternal grandfather Marion B. Farnell, Sr.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 3, 10:00 a.m. at North Mobile Baptist Church. Interment will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Saraland. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations in Logan’s honor be sent to the newly formed Logan Farnell Memorial Scholarship Fund, National Honor Society, Saraland High School, 1115 Industrial Parkway, Saraland, AL 36571.
