She was born on March 15, 1944, in Mobile, Alabama to the late Virginia Ashley Thomas. She was a member of Saint Andrews Chapel, 2354 Dead Lake Road, Creola, Alabama 36525, where she enjoyed worshiping his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Dot was preceded in passing by her loving and devoted husband Wilmer Rankin Barnes; one son, Wilmer Rankin Barnes, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Linda Barnes; her parents.
Left to cherish Dot’s wonderful memories will be her three children: Ernest William Morgan, Jr., Pam Kaye O'Gwynn and husband George, Michael Wayne Barnes, Sr. and wife Teresa, sibling, Doris Kelly and husband Bruce her best-friend, Gumbo, DorDor’s eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Honoring Dot as pallbearers will be Zachary Dyson, Corey Dyson, Michael Wayne Barnes, Jr., Hunter Barnes, Aden Thomas and Richard Thomas

A visitation for Dot will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2023 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Pkwy, Saraland, AL 36571.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 3:00 PM on the grounds of Satsuma Cemetery, Satsuma, Alabama with Brother Chris May and Sister Ellen Leslie officiating under the direction of Radney Funeral Home, Saraland, Alabama.
