Catherine Smith Davis, 94, was born on January 10, 1927 in Oak Grove, Alabama to the late Reynolds Richard Smith, Sr. and Purler Eugenia Davis Smith. She was called to her Heavenly home, surrounded by her loving family, on October 19, 2021 in Saraland, Alabama. Catherine provided thirty plus years of dedicated services as a school bus driver to Mobile County School System. She was a member of the Eastern Star’s, Toulmin Chapter since the 1950’s. Catherine was a member of Saraland Baptist Church since the 1970’s where she enjoyed celebrating her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was an avid hunter, she loved fishing, singing, reading, playing dominos, and always enjoyed staying on the go. Catherine’s most valued achievement was her family and always took pride in caring for them.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 50 ½ years, James Edward Davis, two sons: James William Davis, Edley Earl Davis, three brothers: Reynolds R. Smith, Jr., Harry R. Smith, Howard B. Smith, Sr., one sister-in-law, Elizabeth “Liz” Smith, one granddaughter, Leigh Ann Golabek, and one grandson, John Joseph Davis.
Left to cherish Catherine’s beautiful memories will be one brother, Rodney K. Smith and wife Carrol, two sister’s-in-law: Mattie Smith, Connie Smith, one grandson, James E. Davis and wife Janelle, five grandchildren: Joseph Elton Davis, Catherine Elizabeth Davis, James Francis Davis, John Ryan Davis, Serena Golabek, four great-great-grandchildren: Charleyy Joe Davis, Melody Grace Davis, Simon Davis, Lena Fraley, along with many extended family members and numerous wonderful friends.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude towards the staff of Alabama Hospice, Home Health Care Services, Chaplain Les Pierce, Danielle Gill, Linda Pierce and Stephanie Mason for the professional care, love, compassion and prayers provided during such a difficult time.

Celebration of Life services for Catherine Smith Davis will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, October 22, 2021 at Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Pkwy, Saraland, AL 36571 with Bro. Todd Richardson officiating of Saraland Baptist Church, 712 Williams Avenue, Saraland, Alabama 36571.
The family will be receiving guests for visitation on Friday, October 22, 2021 for 9:00 AM until time of service at 10:00 AM.
Catherine will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memorial Garden, 10000 Celeste Road, Saraland, Alabama 36571.
