Bessie Janice Jackson, age 82, of Semmes, Alabama passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021. Bessie was born April 25, 1938. Bessie will forever be remembered for her loving smile and how she was an Angel in the eyes of her family. She raised her children teaching the word of God and as a dedicated servant, full of faithfulness to God.
She was a original charter member of Life Church and the oldest church member. She had a love for everyone and lead by example. Bessie enjoyed her Sunday School Class, the Merry Widows Group. She loved the Life Church, Faith Academy and Baby Life. Bessie's hobbies included working in her yard and with her flowers.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jack Jackson, parents Roy and Bessie Mae Saranthus, one sister Mittie Laverne Saranthus, five brothers JB, Walter, Algene, Pete and Charles, son-in-law Larry Taylor. Survivors included her children, Sharri Taylor, and Tammy (Alan) Polk. Randy (Rita) Jackson, Brother Harold (Carolyn) Saranthus. Sister-in-law Clairlee Taylor, her loving grandchildren, Missy, Nicole, Kristy, Rachel (Nelson), Robert (Christy), Nicholas (Leighanne) and Misty, along with 26 great grandchildren.
A visitation for Bessie will be held Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Life Church, 8701 Ziegler Blvd, Mobile, AL 36608. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Valhalla Memorial Gardens, 8730 Sims Rd, Eight Mile, Alabama.
