Belgium Brown Scott went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 21, 2018. He was born in McKenzie, Ala. on October 9, 1918 to Thomas Ervin and Lesie Amanda Scott. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. During his term of service in Italy he became a Christian and was baptized in the Mediterranean Sea. He was a dedicated employee who retired from Barnet Mill Works. While there, he developed a love for woodworking and spent many hours making furniture, toys and bird houses for family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years Euna Vae and infant son Belgium Jr.
He is survived by children Jackie (Lois) Davis of Grove Hill, Barbara Wood of Satsuma and Betty (Fred) Chafin of Chickasaw, brother Leelon (Teet) Scott of Birmingham, and sister Leonia Wicker of Ocoee, Fla. He is also survived by numerous loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of William F. Green Veteran's Home in Bay Minette and caretakers Sykenia, Tara, Genevia, Sharion and Stephanie. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that gifts be made in memory of Belgium B. Scott to William F. Green Veteran's Home.
A visitation for Belgium will be held Monday, June 25, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Pkwy, Saraland, Alabama 36571. A funeral service will occur Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 10000 Celeste Rd, Saraland, Alabama 36571. Rev. Roy Hill will officiate.
