On September 12, 1953, she was born in Las Cruces in Guerrero, Mexico, the daughter of the late Amelia Sanchez.
On 1974, Teresa married Juan Mex in Tijuana and together they shared 27 years of marriage.
She lived in Tijuana for a few years then moved to Oxnard in 1980, she moved to Santa Paula in 1983 where she purchased her home on the corner of Sycamore St and Santa Paula St where she lived for 41 years.
Teresa enjoyed dancing, music, and going to the casinos.
She worked at Olga's Beauty Salon for a few years and decided to follow a career in cosmetology. She was a cosmetologist for 27 years and became one of the best in Santa Paula. Teresa enjoyed cutting hair and meeting a lot of people that loved and respected her.
Teresa's proudest achievements was when she graduated from cosmetology school and she opened her own business, Velazquez Hair Salon, and owned it for 26 years.
She was a unique person because although not she didn't know how to drive or speak English, whatever obstacles presented in her life, she didn't let them stop her from accomplishing what she set her mind to do. Teresa was a strong minded person.
Teresa is survived by her 2 daughters Xochitl and Francelia, her 2 sons Juan and Noe, 22 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
