

Maria Dolores Mora, age 84, of Santa Paula, California, passed peacefully on March 30, 2025, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Maria was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Born on November 30, 1940, in Villa de Venustiano, Michoacán, Mexico, Maria was the daughter of Luis Romero and Mariana Carlos. She immigrated to the United States and built a life centered on family and faith. Maria’s greatest joy was spending time with her loved ones, and she created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love. She married Manuel Mora in Maneadero, Baja California, Mexico, and together they shared 44 years of marriage. Their love and devotion to each other were a testament to their strong bond and partnership.
Maria was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Manuel Mora; her sister, Raquel Romero; her brothers, Higinio Romero, Manuel Romero, Luis Romero, Enrique Romero, and Jesus Romero; her daughter-in-law, Lupe Mora; sister-in-law Connie Romero; and her granddaughter, Anamarisa Tellez. She was also reunited with nephews and a niece who were there to welcome her into Heaven.
Maria is survived by her daughter, Rosa Tellez (Mario); sons, Manuel Mora Jr., Daniel Mora (Josie), and Jim Mora; sisters, Alicia Romero and Maria Viveros; her grandchildren, Liz Corona (Johnny), Mario Tellez Jr. (Angeles), Daniel Mora Jr., Georgia Mora, and Grace Mora; and her great-grandson, Axel Corona. She also leaves behind extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Cynthia Caffrey for her compassionate care of Mom. We also extend a special thank you to St. John’s Hospital in Oxnard for the attentive care provided during Mom's time there. Lastly, our deepest appreciation goes to the Vitas Hospice Team for their unwavering support and kindness during her final days.
A Visitation will take place on Monday, April 21, from 5pm to 9pm, with a Rosary at 6:30pm at Funeraria Del Angel Santa Paula.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 22, at 10am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Santa Paula, followed by interment at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery immediately following.
Maria’s passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of her family and friends, but her legacy of love and strength will live on through them. She will be forever remembered, and may she rest in eternal peace.
