It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ann E. Tinsley age, 77 after a 3 year battle with cancer. Ann was on hospice care and passed away surrounded by her family and her beloved dog, Henry.
Ann was born to Thomas and Audrey Lancaster in Los Angeles, CA on Aug 11, 1940. Her father worked for Texaco. During WWll, the family moved to Taft, CA, then, to Fillmore, CA, where Ann went to High School. When she was 16, she met her Husband Franklin E. Tinsley, who was in the Navy at Port Hueneme Seabee Base. They were married and moved to Frank’s home town of Greer, South Carolina, where their first son, Roger was born in 1959, followed by their daughter Beth in 1960. In 1961 the family moved to Fillmore, CA, where Ann’s mother lived. Her father had passed away in 1960. In 1965, the family moved to Santa Paula, CA where Frank went to work for the VC Fire Dept. starting as a volunteer, then going to full time. In 1968 their second son William Frank Tinsley was born. The family went on many camping trips. They also drove cross country to Frank’s home town many times. Throughout the 1960’s and 70’s Ann made this all happen and these were some of the best times for all the family. In the 1970’s and 80’s, Ann owned, “Ann’s Arts and Crafts” in Santa Paula. Ann was an accomplished oil painter. She taught painting at her store for years. Ann was the very best mother, not just to her family, but also to all of her children’s friends. Her home was always open to all. She traveled the world with her sister Cheryl and daughter Beth doing Genealogy Research for the family; something she was very proud of.
In 2001, the love of her life Franklin E. Tinsley passed away after a 30 year career with the VC Fire Dept. She never got over missing him. The next 16 years were spent with family; she helped raise her grandson John Tinsley, born in 1996. She was like a mother to him. When John and his cousin Jordan Tinsley were going through Boy Scouts, she helped with their Eagle Scout projects at the S.P library; hand sewing and building puppet show displays at the S.P Library. She was always there to give time and money to a good cause.
She lived 77 loving and productive years and will be missed by all. She leaves behind her son, Roger Tinsley, daughter, Beth Tinsley, son, Will Tinsley, grandkids, great grandkids and her beloved dog, Henry; who can’t figure out what has happened. We all love you and will miss you, Mom R.I.P.
A Graveside Service for Ann Tinsley will take place on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 2:00pm at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery.
