Douglas Morgan Nelson

Douglas M. Nelson, age 60, of Los Angeles, California, passed away on Sunday February 19, 2023

Doug was born and lived in Los Angeles, California his entire life. He passed peacefully at his home. His father (predeceased) was Gene Nelson, former Hollywood Actor/Dancer/Director and his mother is Marilyn M. Fields retired Executive Vice President of Stan Herman/ Steven Shapiro & Assoc formerly a real estate brokerage in Beverly Hills. He graduated from Beverly Hills High School and went onto Brooks Institute of Photography. He pursued his passion and was a professional Photographer for over 35 years shooting headshots for actors, movies, television and stage. Doug followed a philosophy when photographing "The eyes are the windows to the Soul" and he would make sure to represent the emotion and/or moods to reveal the person inside. His favorite line was "A Picture is worth a thousand words". Back in the day, he enjoyed dancing, live music, Disneyland, magic shows and hanging out with friends. He will be missed and may he rest in peace.

Doug is survived by his Mother, Marilyn M. Fields, Step Father, Jon J. Fields, sister, Victoria Gordo; niece, Veronica Gordo and nephew, Victor Gordo, brother, Chris Nelson; nephews, Christian Nelson (daughter Emma Nelson), Josh Nelson and Matt Nelson, Uncle Richard Morgan. He also is survived by extended family through marriages: sister, Wyndi Potts Molinari and husband Roberto Molinari; niece and nephew, Sofia and Marco Molinari, sister, Tammie Lee Potts and nephew Jesper Dalquist; brother, Bob Potts; sister Lauren Talve and husband, Larry Talve; nieces and nephew, Lindsay Abrams, Ashley Shenfeld and Zachary Talve; brother Jonathan Fields, Aunt and Uncle, Teresa and Elliot Ponchick; cousins Jeffrey and Laura Ponchick, cousins, Bjorn and Gertrude Berg, Asa Lindblom and Thorun Berg, Katarina and Bjorn Cassersten; Viktoria Cassersten.
